Who Am I?

Hi everyone,

My name is Sharmila Samaroo. I grew up in Saline and went Saline High School.  I just completed my freshman year at UofM and I loved it! This summer I’m currently working on research with the Sanford lab concerning redox flow batteries.

I’m majoring in Chemical Engineering. I’m not too set on any single direction yet, but I’m interested in possibly pursing fields concerning pharmaceuticals or energy.

When I’m not studying, working or sleeping I love to be outside, play soccer, and eat. Since it’s freezing in Michigan 95% of the time, I make an effort to get out and soak up the sun while it’s around.  I also love to play soccer. I’ve been playing since I was four and worked my way up to playing for Vardar through high school. Recently I also helped coach a U-8 kids soccer team and that was a great experience.  Also, the World Cup just started, so watching those games will consume some of my summer.  I also have a great affection for food, anyone who knows me can certainly attest to the fact that I absolutely LOVE to eat.

One interesting thing about me is I’m pretty open to trying new things, I think I would probably try anything at least once (within reason of course).
