Who am I

Hi, my name is David Ruehlmann and I'm from Wheaton, IL, a small suburb outside of Chicago. In the fall, I'll be a junior at UM. I am currently undecided, but I plan to declare a BCN (biopsychology, cognition, and neuroscience) major during the Fall semester. In addition, I am pursuing the pre-med track at this time. I would like to study at a medical school following undergrad with the goal of eventually becoming a doctor. I'm not sure which specialty I would like to pursue. One possible specialty that would interest me is orthopaedic medicine, due to my history of knee injuries and my current research, which is in sports medicine.

I enjoy hanging out with friends, playing recreational sports with friends, listening to music, watching tv/movies, and trying new restaurants in my spare time. I play the drums when I am home, which annoys my neighbors. During school, I am involved with the pre-med club here at UM. I also volunteer at Angell Elementary School as a lunch volunteer and through the Wolverine Health Sciences Program, both of which have been a lot of fun.

One unique thing about me is that I transferred to UM following the fall semester of my freshman year. I spent a semester at the University of Cincinnati as an architecture major, during which I figured out that I didn't like architecture and I didn't like the University of Cincinnati. So I decided to transfer here.
