Hi Everybody!
My name is Arjune Dhanekula, and I'm a rising sophomore at Michigan. I grew up right here in the state of Michigan, just outside of Detroit in a suburb called Clinton Township. It's a very dense area, and it has a multitude of massive shopping areas to boot. My high school was Chippewa Valley, and it too was quite large (with a graduating class of about 500 students). I have two parents, a brother, and a wonderful dog.
Here at Michigan, I'm majoring in CMB (Cell & Molecular Bio), with a minor in Applied Stats. As dry and intensive as these subjects are, they truly fascinate me. Molecular biology elucidates the great secrets of life, while applied statistics allows us to understand the data from that area and many others. I hope to extend my love of molecular bio into a research career (perhaps in epigenetics, a ravishingly fresh field) with perhaps an MD with it. We'll see how that all plays out, haha.
In terms of hobbies, I have nothing really out of the ordinary. I've played both guitar and bass for 8 years, so I love both playing and listening to music. I've also played tennis for the same amount of time, so I also spend quite a bit of time at the courts. Outside of that, I like to watch shows like Arrested Development and Game of Thrones (told you it wasn't anything unique) and spend time with the friends and fam.
And one unique thing? Uhh, I'm half Indian and Italian, so I guess that works!
