Who Am I?

Hello, my name is Katerina Gawronski (Kat for short), and I am from Clarkston, MI.

I am a rising senior majoring in Neuroscience, and I intend to obtain my doctorate in Human Genetics. My primary research interests include the interplay between environmental and genetic risks, and the integration of medical "big data" (genetic risk, biomarker data, etc.) to create a more personalized approach to patient treatment.

My hobbies and interests include biking, traveling, and the quantified self movement.

Something interesting about me is that my first year and a half at university, I was a film major with a focus on animation. When I applied for my first UROP project, my lab was looking for someone who knew how to use photoshop for visual field quantification, so this background came in handy!
