Hello fellow fellowship fellows,
Last Sunday I got to build relations with other researchers while building bikes to supply to those in need as a community service event. I observed friendships forming, teamwork at play, and a lot of smiles on faces, both from the families receiving the bicycles and the students that helped create them. I learned that I sometimes come off strong but only with the best intentions. My group helped me realize that everyone deserves a chance and that trust must be given for a team to work efficiently. I liked the entire community service event, except for when we didn't get to give our child his brand new bike. Regardless, the experience was definitely a positive one. Now I can apply what I've learned. I can ensure a little more faith in others and also remember the common goal that we all share, which is to help produce something that will benefit those that need it. If I could do them again, I would've thrown the chicken through the parachute rather than try and toss it by opening the parachute; sort of cheating, but the rules didn't prevent it...
Signing out,
Conor M.
Hey Conor, you were in my team for the community service event. I liked that last part, but we pulled it through (almost)!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I agree with your comment that we didn't get to meet a kid to give him/her their bike.
