Workshop Reflection

I enjoyed meeting new people in the research program during the Career Development 101 session. It was interesting to hear about other people’s research because the most of the people I was already familiar with all had engineering related research. Most of the information was a review in terms of resumes and resources, though some minor things that were highlighted were very useful.

I found the session on publishing articles very useful to provide perspective on the work it takes to complete the entire process. I wasn’t aware of much of the information about the editing process and the different types of journals. The talk was very useful in the very general terms, and I liked the process shown in the emails as well. If I could change one element it would be to have the speaker have a scientific background since it would be more applicable to the overall audience in this summer program.
