From the Career Development 101 workshop, I learned about different resources that I am able to use on campus to help me with my resume, create business cards, and help strengthen my interview skills. It reminded me that networking is very important and that I need to network with professionals and peers on campus. This workshop showed me that there are many opportunities to move forward with starting my career.
From the Writing Academic Articles and Getting Published workshop, I learned about the process of writing articles and how to continue from there. In the lab that I am working in this summer, I had to read many scholarly articles to get more information relating to the topic that my lab and I are researching. The workshop solidified the reasoning behind and importance of reading all of those scholarly articles, and I learned how difficult it was for those articles to be published in journals.
These workshops were very informative and will help me with my future career.
