Workshop Reflection

After attending these two seminars titled "Career Development 101" and "Writing Academic Articles and Getting Published", I have learned several things that will help me develop myself. In "Career Development 101" I was surprised to learn about all of the complimentary services offered by the University of Michigan such as mock interviews, resume building and professional business cards. I was also reminded of the Career Center website that I have browsed in the past but have since forgotten. I will definitely utilize these in the future. In "Writing Academic Articles and Getting Published", the process of submitting, reviewing, and editing journal articles was explained. I was familiar with the process, but attending the seminar gave me a reminder of the long road ahead of me in my research.
